FCE – FIRST CERTIFICATE IN ENGLISH is an exam from the Cambridge level B2 exam series. It is one of the most popular exams around the world and is valid for life. It is recognized as an entry exam at some universities and colleges, as well as Sofia University for some majors. It consists of 4 parts: 1. Reading and Use of English with a duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes This part of the exam consists of 7 parts and 52 questions and determines your ability to read and understand different types of text, as well as your ability to deal with certain grammatical structures. 2. Writing – with a duration of 1 hour and 20 minutes Here you have to write 2 writings such as email, essay and others. 3. Listening – with a duration of 40 minutes This part of the exam consists of 4 parts and 30 questions and requires you to fill in questions and a selection of ready-made questions that prove your ability to understand spoken language such as news, presentations or daily conversations while listening to certain audio materials. 4. Speaking – with a duration of 40 minutes for each participant Here you are tested on your ability to talk about a familiar case or about yourself, discuss certain topics with one or two candidates, and express agreement or disagreement. FCE preparation courses • have a duration of 120 hours • are held twice a week on Saturday and Sunday for 4 school hours per visit or 4 months.
