CAE – CERTIFICATE IN ADVANCED ENGLISH is an exam from the series of exams at Cambridge at level C1. It is one of the most popular exams around the world and is valid for life. It is recognized as an entry exam in some universities and colleges, as well as Sofia University for some specialties. CAE preparation courses • have a duration of 120 hours • are held 2 times a week on Saturday and Sunday for 4 school hours per visit or 4 months. It consists of 4 parts: 1.Reading and Use of English with a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes This part of the exam consists of 8 parts and 56 questions and determines your ability to read and understand different types of text, as well as your ability to deal with certain grammatical structures. 2. Writing – with a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes Here you have to write 2 written works such as email, essay and others. 3. Listening – with a duration of 40 minutes This part of the exam consists of 4 parts and 30 questions and requires you to fill in questions and a selection of ready-made questions that prove your ability to understand spoken language such as news, presentations or daily conversations while listening to certain audio materials. 4. Speaking – with a duration of 15 minutes for each participant This tests your ability to talk, discuss certain topics with, and express agreement or disagreement.
