Direct Method of Teaching
The English language teaching method is called Direct Method and is based on questions and answers. Direct Method because students do not read initially, it is not translated, and the student answers directly, i.e. immediately with the help of the teacher, who guides the student, like a small child learning to move from the initial structures to the complex grammatical tenses and collocations of the language. They speak entirely in English and even new words are explained in English with already learned ones. The ease of learning helps students to speak English with complete confidence, regardless of their level. Students receive lasting knowledge, without unnecessary information, without homework and many grammar exercises. Learning a foreign language with this method is based on the way we learned our native language – first we learned to speak and only then to read and write, and the speed with which we speak does not allow the student to translate into their native language, giving them the opportunity to compose sentences on the spot, without pauses and hesitations.
